About + Bio

'Arras Healing' was created in October 2021 and is based in the ancient rolling hills of the Yorkshire Wolds, northern Britain.

Arras is named for the surrounding landscape, including the Bronze Age and Iron Age burial grounds that are found here between Beverley, Hull, York and the eastern coast. By carrying the name of Arras, my work and ethos pays homage to the ancestors who roam here and the living sentience of the land.

You can read more about Arras in a future blog that I am working on.

About me & Arras Healing

My name is Candy and I established Arras Healing to play my part in the ‘midwifery’ and creation of a trauma-informed world. I am passionate about bringing trauma awareness and education to more people and communities. I am confident that this growing awareness – particularly of intergenerational (ancestral) and collective trauma – can transform societies and break through overwhelm and ‘stuckness’ to create new healing paradigms to benefit everyone.

Previously, between 2021 and 2025 I worked as a certified and highly experienced breathworker, somatic and wellness practitioner, trauma coach, and independent consultant in trauma-informed research and leadership. I specialised in breathwork, peer facilitation, somatic attunement practices, meditation, ancestral healing, and trauma education. My private client and groupwork came to a close in December 2025 as I opted to turn my focus towards writing, blogging and research.

Before running Arras Healing, I worked for the NHS as a successful programme manager and prior to this worked in the voluntary sector delivering award-winning projects to vulnerable communities, veterans and other service users. I have held roles in Equality and Diversity and have worked closely alongside leading mental health and primary care clinicians to develop, implement and evaluate trauma-informed approaches across health and care settings, in particular those where health inequalities are present.

I spent 4 years intensively training within the school of world-leading trauma facilitator Dr Thomas Hübl PhD and apprenticed to his community, and I have previously worked as a tutor and peer support leader in breathwork for the Bedfordshire Centre for Therapeutic Studies.

As well as my client work, groups, and private consulting with the public sector, I enjoyed leading reflective practice spaces for other holistic professionals, counsellors, coaches and trauma therapists. These were emergent spaces, attuning to topics such as war trauma, women's ancestral trauma, and pre-Roman British and European cultures. I facilitated the development of powerful relational fields where together we were able to hold and integrate some of this "stuckness" into the present moment. This type of work holds a dear place in my heart and I may return to it again in the future if I hear the call.

If you benefitted from my work or collaborative efforts through Arras Healing at any time between 2021 and 2025, I wish you continued warmth, joy and blessing in your journey onwards.

When we no longer know what to do, we have come to our real work. And when we no longer know which way to go, we have begun our real journey.

The doors to the world of the Wild Self are few but precious. If you have a deep scar, that is a door. If you have an old, old story, that is a door. If you love the sky and the water so much that you almost cannot bear it... If you yearn for a deeper life, a full life, a sane life, that is a door.
